Finely carved table fit for modern Yoruba deity.

This “Divination Table” made by the Yoruba people in the 1930s symbolizes the value of the matriarch in Nigerian culture. The mother is backing her baby while holding the divine on top of her head. This simultaneous offering of the woman’s body to society alongside her service is the inspiration behind A Body Table.

The primary material is a mixture of earth and cement and is carved using stone.
